Are you qualified to be a professional?

The following short quiz consists of 4 questions and will tell you whether you are qualified to be a professional. Scroll down for each answer. The questions are NOT that difficult. But don't scroll down UNTIL you have answered the question!

1. How do you put a giraffe into a refrigerator?

The correct answer is: Open the refrigerator, put in the giraffe, and close the door. This question tests whether you tend to do simple things in an overly complicated way.

2. How do you put an elephant into a refrigerator?

Did you say, Open the refrigerator, put in the elephant, and close the refrigerator?

Wrong Answer.

Correct Answer: Open the refrigerator, take out the giraffe, put in the elephant and close the door. This tests your ability to think through the repercussions of your previous actions.

3. The Lion King is hosting an animal conference. All the animals attend... except one.
Which animal does not attend?

Correct Answer: The Elephant. The elephant is in the refrigerator. You just put him in there. This tests your memory. Okay, even if you did not answer the first three questions correctly, you still have one more chance to show your true abilities.

4. There is a river you must cross but it is used by crocodiles, and you do not have a boat.
How do you manage it?

Correct Answer: You jump into the river and swim across. Have you not been listening? All the crocodiles are attending the Animal Meeting. This tests whether you learn quickly from your mistakes. According to Anderson Consulting Worldwide, around 90% of the professionals they tested got all questions wrong, but many eschoolers got several correct answers. Anderson Consulting says this conclusively disproves the theory that most professionals have the brains of a four-year-old.

Send this out to frustrate all of your smart friends.

i just realised one simple fact about change:
i don't expect change to happen if i keep doing the same thing..
if i want to change my life, i have to change the way i do things, what i do and why i do it..
i may also have to give up what i like to do, just to do what i need to do..
for one, i'm a big fan of procrastination, and it has got me into couple of troubles..
so that's off my list..
another, a supporter of laziness, that too has to go..

of course there are others traits that might have to be altered because it had bothered me so much and that i've never done anything about them..
it made me pissed and down that i didn't feel like going anywhere during the last weekend, even to one of my good friend's birthday party..
i was in no mood whatsoever, even to announce and explain my absence, which was very much to my regrets.. but oh well, i do hope understanding from her..

man, i had enough of all this...

never had i passed such a grey weekend..
i'm not contented with my life now, though i appeared positive and happy-go-lucky in front of people..

but i'm not contented with my life..

i want change..

capoeira argola de ouro

the capoeira group that i'm training with in singapore..
well, if you are interesting in findin out more about this martial arts and its culture, just click on the link above..
or, you can come find out more from yours truly, jet lee..
which is me, of course, that's my capoeira name given by my capoeira professor in troyes, but i think it would be changed here by my new professor..
i do hope it will be something good..
already there's one guy who was given the name 'smurfs' because his handphone rang during last saturday's training, and what better tune to put as the ringtone than the opening music of 'smurfs'!! haha..

been limping whole day since i tore the skin of my feet during capoeira on wednesday..
left toe is not too bad, the right one is painful because it tore twice at the same area.. so raw the new skin is now..

roda capoeira

one of the hottest weekend i've ever experienced ever since my return..
how i wished i'm now in other places than this oven, troyes or stockholm or helsinki would be very nice..
and one of the most tiring one too..
climbed at yishun safra with chris and jiasheng on saturday morning..
i was so weak that i can't lead a rainbow route, that's to say i can use any colored holds on the wall..
man.. 2 months of no-climbing really sapped away your strength, but not my skills luckily.. haha..

was late for capoeira lesson in the afternoon due to some freak absent-mindedness you wouldn't believe that could happen..
well, it happened to me:
cycled to the train station only to find out that i had left my wallet at home, so i cycled back to get it, only to realized that i had forgotten some papers as well..
funny thing was that i felt the wallet in the other bag, but somehow never crossed my mind to get it, so i went to get the papers and cycled back to the station, all the time having this funny idea that i had brought along my wallet already..
no.. when i reached the station, i felt my pocket only to find that i have NOT taken it out from the other bag yet! which is rather weird and bizarre.. so with all my unwillingness, i cycled back, again, to get the wallet.. all the time asking myself why am i so down with luck today..
and the rest is history.. i arrived at 5pm, just had time for some training on movements and roda.. but oh well..

sunday was rather nice, for a change..
had a roda of capoeira outside takashimaya shopping centre around 1630hrs..
it was a publicity stint to promote the sport and our club as well..
played for the most times in the roda ever since i joined the group here..
it was just so nice and exciting to play in roda.. the ways to dodge and surprise your opponent is just infinite.. and to display your ability to flex your body is so awkward positions and gymnastics stunts.. i'm such a show-off..

decided to rest early tonight so i can get up early for a jog before work..

rush rush doing nothing, hurry hurry going nowhere

friday has drawn to a close, weekend's awakening..
there are quite a number of things to do, but at the same time i felt i'm just going through the motion..
not that i'm not interested, just that i don't know why i'm doing it for..
i just felt that i don't really have time for myself, no time to stop and think about what i have done and what i'm going to do for the next few days or weeks..
no time for self reflection..
maybe it's just an excuse for my laziness and procrastination..
i think i'm spending lots of time doing things that worth nothing, like the internet..
i think i had done more stuffs in troyes where internet is null..
what i should do is to limit myself to internet, just to email, blog, downloads and news..
maybe some entertainment once in a while..
think it's best to stop now..

just met up with a very old friend for coffee, and to return the warm clothes that i had borrowed from him for my france trip, for that i'm forever in debt to him..
he just got blissfully married to his university sweetheart.. how nice..

and i just realised that he had went finland for his exchange programme!!
not that i just found out, he told before but i'd forgotten about it..
it just got both of us excited..
we talked about the long winters and the crazy things we did during them..
saunas, rolling naked in the ice, swimming in frozen lakes..
he'd been to oulu, kemijiavi, santa's village, the arctic circle..
FINALLY someone in singapore who don't think i'm crazy..
who had done those things that i had done, been to places i've been to..
i've found relief..

Your breath becomes visible. Time to plan a trip to the Mediterranean.
Lappish people eat ice cream and drink cold beer.

-4°C
The cat wants to come into your bed.

-24°C

Out of your breath people could cut building material for igloos.

Now you know the difference between Lappen (German for Lappish) and
Waschlappen (German for washcloth, but also pansy or pussy).

trains and roses

watched 'trains and roses' yesterday evening in ntu..
a german film about this guy who wanted to go to inari in finland to take part in this, well it actually sounded quite funny, time-table schedule competition. it's where people gather from world over to see who can come up with the shortest schedule from one point to another by train or/and ferry..
it's to tell us that life is not like a train, that the fastest route is not definitely the best route..
such a nostalgic film because i felt so familiar and close when they were in sweden and finland..
they talked about stockholm, kemijavi and rovaneimi, places i've had been to before..
and when the finnish lady spoke on the phone, i was like, hey, isn't that finnish, and i started to wonder how many in the theatre can tell that it was finnish, not german..
flashbacks started to come back to me now..
nice yet sad at the same time, like mixing sugar syrup and vinegar together and drink it..

met up with the friends who went to france together..
gun, son, jun and me..
got some soft drinks and snacks and of course baguette and we just talked at the arena of the running track..
cool air rushed around us, calm and tranquil..
sometimes i wondered if i am finding refuge among them, or i am happy to see them..
i knew i am, bu i knew i would get that feeling i had in troyes among the international students..
am i still trying to run away from settling down in singapore again?
many unanswered questions in me, but no point to pour out here..
oh well.. live and let live..

a morning of joy and relaxation

simply put, our supervisors are not in today.. (champagne popping and people cheering..)
supposed to update the email system in ST Jurong, but the person-in-charge is on leave today, so we can't do anything..
unless there's a problematic pc, our other supervisor wouldn't call us..
so the couple of us just hang around the computer room and chat..
what a nice way to start the day..

an nyong ha sae yo!

heard from my friend that i'm able to get som korean food from this store in burlington square just beside sim lim square. it's just so incredible, because it's not just some, but all that i need!! the chilli paste, the pepper powder for making kim chi, the sea weed.. let's take a look inside.. Posted by Hello

you can hardly think you are actually in singapore while in the store.. everything's in korean! rice crackers, soft drinks - even pepsi! - canned food, tea, whatever you can think of, it can be found there.. even korean dining set.. oulalala Posted by Hello
