a wonderful weekend..
dinner on saturday night with my roommates, gerry and mr wong, the korean gals, nari and sung, and my salsa partner from china, liping.. ok.. mayb i sounded rather racist.. haha

the first korean phrase that i have learnt from my korean and climbing buddy, baek, or formally known as pecoso (pronounced bec-ko-so)..
it simply means: "I'm Derrick" (na nin derrick ip ni da)..
i see myself as someone who's easily interested in fresh and new stuffs, and the trip to france offers me a glimpse to a whole new and interesting world..
it's a big mixing pot of cultures and language, thus i find myself wanting to learn something from them..
on the other hand, i know myself well that i'm someone who gets tired easily after learning something for a while but does not see myself improving.. one classic case is with learning japanese..
i've grown up watching japanese anime and tv series and reading manga, and finally got to learn japanese on my second semestre in NTU, but guess what, i dropped it after that semetre and crossed over to french instead because i sucked at it..
i can't even speak a complete japanese sentence to my friend after a sem, that was so demoralizing..
i just hope its not the case with french or korean.. at least now i have programs on my laptop that allows me to practice typing korean..
cold today.. woke up shivering.. that's not good at all.. i hated it.. waking up to such unwelcoming feel..
anyway, back to my account of my weekend.. see how unfocused i am?.. man..
made my first kimchi.. yes, the preserved cabbage of korean cuisine..
but made some amendments to the original receipe from baek to suit my taste and diet, which does not include garlic.. and i passed.. haha..
lazy sunday, read asterix as part of our french course which we need to do a presentation on it..
never knew reading comics in french can be so different.. i don't ever remember carrying a dictionary and even opening it when i was reading it in english.. there were so many words that i have never came across.. argh.. ok, that was horrible..
evening came and i went for a jazz fest at UTT with nari, which was quite nice with a rather unusual rhythm.. and of course, there was the international dinner at julia and martina's place.. german cuisine we had.. and a small pre-christmas present.. aren't they sweet.. both the present and them..
think i rambled a little too much again.. typical derrick.. i think i have a case of typing diahoerra disease.. but ain't i so kind to let my friends know that i'm doing very fine here?

cold cold week.. especially on wednesday when i went capoeira in omnisports hall in centre ville on bike.. my hands were practically freezing.. i'm really contemplating the idea of cycling during winter to do capoeira..
1 more month to x'mas!! wo ho!! i'm getting more and more excited about my trip to finland and sweden.. no matter how cold my friends had told me that it's going to get.. come bite me, coldness!!
if you had been observant, you would have noticed that i'm using proper english now, in view of my FRENCH friends, who has problem understanding the kind of slang i'm usin in my blog, ya? u know who u r.. haha
and i had actually been warned by my friend to update my blog.. haha.. ok...
and i thought i had heard it all..
i was expecting things like: hey, how are you? are you doing fine? when are you coming back?
but noo... the first few things he told me was: hey, you have not been updating your blog, you know.. grr...
okok... here i am, happy now? haha.. and i'm still waiting for your e-mail!!!

another quiet weekend i guess.. there is going to have a graduation party at UTT tonight but i guess i'm not going.. instead, i'll be having dinner with my friends.. and i'm hosting tonight.. hope the food will turn out fine..
while climbing today, i actually felt good.. it had been so long since i felt the pain on my fingers..
i'm not psycho like my climbing partner said i am, it's that kind of pain that you get when you had climbed for too long and they became sensitive that it hurted when climbing.. i can only remember having that when climbing in yishun back in singaopore.. think i'll be doing more climbing as winter approaches..
and my friend baek is beckoning for lunch now.. alors, a plus tard!!

mont st michel is beautiful.. very beatiful, gothic cathedral surrounded by sea, which at low tide, you can actually walk around the seabed.. quite cool..
but the bus ride was kind of tedious thou.. because we spent most of the time on it, rather than outside..
and on saturday, when we reached the 1st destination, Deauville, a town by the beach, which was once one of the landing bays by the Allied Forces during WWII, it was raining.. so chilling.. i just hoped to get back onto the bus as soon as possible..
anyway, the pics from Spain was not up last friday as promised due to server error in UTT, my apologises.. as i'm writing now, the pics are being uploaded.. so the wait's almost over..
there's sun today, which is getting rarer and rarer by the day.. anyway, troyes' weather has been quite erratic.. you can have rain in the morning and sun in the evening or vice versa, or windy at one moment, and overcast at the next.. come to think of it, kind of like my mood.. haha
class in 10 mins time.. later..

after 2 weeks mugging, yes muggin, for the mid-sem exams.. sheez - i hav 4!! - now its time to a little break frm all dat.. well, dat's wat i thought..
with on-goin projects and tutorials, i hardly think so..
but then, who cares! i'm gg Mont St Michel this weekend.. a very beautiful castle surrounded by the sea..
n please dun remind me.. i know, i still owe u guys the pics frm Spain.. it will b up by tomorrow.. dat's a promise..
after salsa class today, the prof suggested dat we give a presentation on salsa for UTT at the next Gala.. dat's so fun.. but i dun think i'm still around thou.. haha..
days are getting dark earlier n earlier.. its only 5pm and it seemed like 730pm already.. i missed the sun.. i wan 2 b in spore!! haha..
mayb i would think otherwise when i got back.. irony..
