stephen king and ...muffins?

without knowing it, it's the start of the second week of my break.. been busy, think busier than during the term! haha..

managed to only finish one novel by stephen king: lisey's story.. i can shamelessly say that i'm a big fan of his stories.. ever since i started on his needful things - the first novel i read i think - i am just hooked on them.. and one after another i would borrowed from the library.. it, carrie, cujo, the dark tower series, nightmares and dreamscapes, the green mile, the girl who loved tom gordon, the stand, hearts in atlantis, midnight shift, the dark half, the list goes on.. then i went on a hiatus after polytechnic.. felt that i need to read other stuffs as well.. haha..

well, lisey's story is about a woman who lost her husband and that's when their love story is starting its next chapter - as the book put it that way - when she looks back at their times together, while at the same time a crazy man, a dark prince of the incunks, one of the freesia who wants to end all this ding-dong for her, demands her to hand over her dead husband's stuffs - his manuscripts - to a certain man or else he would do something nasty to her, and it's really nasty.. and you can count of the master of horror storytelling to add in all the supernatural and scary stuffs in between which is sometimes too familiar to us all at some times.. the fear of stuffs that appear momentarily at the side of the mirror at night.. fear of the unexplained..

what i really enjoyed about this story is how he intertwined stories of 3 different periods together and you can feel the relation between all of them.. and "the pool" he describes in it that we all can "go down and have a drink or cast a net", the "pool" which really means the places where we constantly learn from.. at least it seems to me.. it's really up to anyone's interpretation of that pool..

got my tickets to kl today at golden mile complex this noon and ate at the hawker nearby, which is the "army market" at the third level, and saw this interesting stall that sells nothing but fresh muffins, yep fresh from the oven just within the stall.. it's called SLII MUFFIN and it's located on the second level.. just on the left of the center staircase up.. got half-dozen of them.. and i must say they are really good..

it has quite a selection to choose from: chocolate chip, raisins, blueberries, durian(yep that too!), banana, strawberries, almonds.. etc. it's not very sweet, and it's very soft inside; not too hard or oily like the ones i've tried from delifrance.. reasonable price: $1.20 per muffin, and you get one free for every five you buy.. go try if possible and tell me what you think of them.. i give them a 4/5 rating..
