google goes black, environment goes green

the title was an abstraction from an article from lianhe zaobao..
in tandem with the eco-friendly ideas to combat global warming, toby heap created the blackle, a google-powered search engine featuring a black background and almost everything in black. according to the founder, a screen which is pre-dominantly white requires more energy to display than a dark or black screen.. thus by adopting a black background, we can all help to reduce the energy usage, given our high power usage due to our long time in front of the pc, surfing the net or what not..
so let's do our little part in reducing the energy usage, because a little energy saved by everyone of us goes a long way.. cheers..
